CARL R. (CHIP) GRIFFIN, 31st year, grew up in Boothbay Harbor, attended public schools for 12 years in the Boothbay Region, and graduated from Boothbay Region High School in 1973. Selected Phi Beta Kappa, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in 1977. He was a Dean's List student at the University of Maine School of Law, graduating in 1980. He has owned and managed his law firm in Boothbay Harbor since 1980. Memberships include: American Bar Association, Maine State Bar Association, and past president of the Lincoln County Bar Association.

A member of the Real Estate Section and Trust and Estates Section of the Maine State Bar Association, Chip is also part of the Law Practice Management and Real Property, and Trusts and Estate sections of the American Bar Association. He has been a faculty member since 1999 of the Maine State Bar Association's "Bridging the Gap" seminar, writing and speaking on law practice management.

He is the only Lincoln County Attorney who is a member of the Elder Law section of the Maine State Bar Association and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Areas of concentration include estate planning, estate administration, elder law, real estate, business, and land use.

ANNE MOSHER, 20th year, working weekends for Chip in 1991, she began her full-time duties as a paralegal with the firm in June 1992. She deals primarily with real estate planning, contracts and real estate closings, performs abstracting, and is also responsible for all of the firm's title insurance.

MARY BATAKIS, 22nd year, primarily works in the fields of real estate as well as business entities and planning. Her legal experience also includes business law, debtor/creditor law, estate planning, and estate administration.

SANDY PAXSON, 9th year, obtained her paralegal certificate at Penn State University and now works with our clients in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, probate, and elder law and Medicaid issues. In the past, she has also worked with the office bookkeeping, marketing, and office management.

SARAH E. GILES, 20th year, is our "right-hand" receptionist and office-ally extraordinaire. Sarah's great attitude and humor, coupled with her willingness to tackle any chore, keeps our phones, files, and faxes flowing.

BELLA GRIFFIN, 6th year, our Bernese Mountain
Dog, is our "official" receptionist as she welcomes everybody who walks through the door. Bella's listening skills and guarding secrets, modeled after the staff's, eases clients when she often joins in conferences with her dad, Chip Griffin.
